Description

Chalet Nyika is a lovely family home, providing a cosy, yet functional space. It is a great choice for friends and families, who wish to be near the centre of Samoens, while also enjoying an elevated position, above the village.

This lovely family home provides accommodation for 8 (10) guests in 4 bedrooms, with 3 bathrooms (approx 150m2).

The Living / Dining area on the ground floor features an open fireplace, a flat screen television and access straight onto the terrace outside, with sweeping views over the valley. The dining area is best suited to 8 adults. Two baby high chairs can be provided.

A separate games room / office is also located on the ground floor. This room contains a mini snooker, board games, jigsaws and books, but can also be used as a remote working space. Useful for a little quiet time if others are in the living room watching Television.

There are four bedrooms, including 2 double bedrooms and 2 twin bedrooms. We can, upon request, provide a sleeping configuration for up to 2 further guests (at a supplementary tarif).

During summer months, the beautiful private garden can be enjoyed for leisure and dining, and benefits from having delightful valley and mountain views. There is a large dining table and chairs, and a barbecue, available for our guests to use.

Parking: The driveway provides suitable parking for 2 cars. In Winter, during very cold weather, you may find the drive to be slippery. For your safety, please bring suitable footwear for snow and cold conditions.

Home Truths

• There are 4 bedrooms sleeping 8 in beds. We can accommodate a further 2 guests on a double sofa bed in the ‘snug’.

• A car is essential to get around. The chalet is located above the main village. It takes around 7 minutes to reach the ski lift and snow chains may be required during periods of heavy snow. There is no ski bus.

• Snow boots recommended in the event of heavy snow conditions. It is not always possible for our teams to entirely clear snow from outside areas.

• There is one camera facing towards the driveway to monitor snow and weather conditions. This camera does not have any recording capability (live stream only) - furthermore, it is never in use during guest stays. There are NO other cameras in the garden areas or indoors. Your privacy is a priority.

Location

Chalet Nyika is located above Samoens village on the south facing side. The location is perfect for privacy and to enjoy an authentic mountain experience. It takes only 7 minutes by car to reach the high speed ‘GME’ lift connecting you to the Grand Massif ski domain in winter, which boasts some of the best skiing in the world. Suitable for all levels, there is over 275km of piste to explore and plenty of off-piste for more advanced skiers. In the summer, this area is a hub for adventure sports such as hiking, mountain biking, climbing and paragliding.

Distances & Transport

Samoens Centre: 4.5km; Ski Lift: 5km (driving only); Geneva Airport: 80km (1hr 15); Paris: 600km (6hrs+); London: 1,000km (12hrs+)

A car is essential at this chalet. However for larger groups, or those with a scattered arrival time, you may additionally opt for a transfer service directly from Geneva Airport, which will take you directly to the chalet. For bookings between November – April, we recommend that you have a 4×4 or at the very least, snow chains in your car. The road is ploughed 2 – 3 times daily but it is always a good idea to arrive prepared for heavy snow conditions. if it snows heavily during the daytime. It is legal requirement in the French Alps to come equipped with snow chains that specifically fit you vehicle

Not Included: Local Tourist Taxes (Taxe de Séjour), calculated at €4, per adult, per night.

Extra Guest Charges: For bookings above 8 guests, or where the ‘snug’ is requested as an extra bedroom (double sofa bed), there will be an additional charge of €50 per person.

Chalet Nyika is available to rent all year round… Email or give us a call for any further information

Changeover day for the chalet is generally Sunday… However please ask us if you’d like a particular arrival day as we can sometimes be flexible

Security Deposit amount is €600 (or £600) – Payable by Bank Transfer before arrival

Rental payments can be paid in 2 instalments – a 30% deposit is required at the time of booking, the 70% balance will be due 60 days before arrival.

Pet Policy: We are dog-friendly and will consider up to 1 small/medium, well behaved & house trained dog at an extra charge of €100. We ask that all furry guests are kept out of bedrooms and prevented from climbing onto furniture. All dog litter should be removed from exterior spaces (garden, porch, patio and green spaces around the property). Pets must be declared at the time of booking, with details including age, breed, size and temperament.
